    This marinara sauce is a great way to use up the tomato harvest 🍅 ✨INGREDIENTS ✨ * 8 large ripe tomatoes (or 5 XL tomatoes) * 2 peppers * 1 Cup dried Italian style tomatoes (or sun-dried tomatoes, drain the oil first) * 1 tsp. salt, to taste * 2 Tablespoons balsamic vinegar 🌿 Herbs may be fresh or dried 🌿 * 1 Tablespoon oregano * 1 Tablespoon Rosemary * 1 Tablespoon Thyme * 1 Tablespoon Basil ✨INSTRUCTIONS✨ 1. Place all the ingredients into a large soup pot. Set on low heat. 2. Cook until the tomatoes break down into mush and the other ingredients are dissolved into the mess. (about 1 hour) 3. Run the whole contents of the pot through a food mill to remove the skins and make a thick sauce texture. 4. You can also use an immersion blender of food processor to blend the sauce 5. serve immediately or store in the fridge up to a week. This recipe freezes well in vacuum pack or ziplock freezer bags. #marinarasauce #tomatoes #gardenharvest #tomatoharvest

    LOOKS SO GOOD! I just made dinner and will try this next time. I have another recipe for you as a trade: in a food processor, mix Cilantro, peanuts, vinegar, lemon juice, garlic, serrano pepper, brown sugar, and salt! Just taste it to your liking. You can put it on anything! I just added it to some polish beef dumplings. You could also add something like mexican creme/sour cream if you want it creamier.

    This creamy mushroom sauce is a favorite in our house! 😋 ✨INGREDIENTS ✨ * 2 tablespoons unsalted butter * 1 small shallot, finely chopped * 2 cloves garlic, minced * 8 ounces mushrooms (such as cremini or button), sliced * 1/4 cup dry white wine (Sauvignon Blanc or Chardonnay recommended) * 1/2 cup beef broth * 3/4 cup heavy cream * 1 teaspoon fresh thyme sprigs (I used lemon thyme) * Salt and pepper to taste * Parsley for garnish ✨INSTRUCTIONS✨ 1. In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. 2. Add the finely chopped shallots and cook, stirring occasionally, until they become translucent, about 2-3 minutes. 3. Add the minced garlic and cook for an additional 1 minute, being careful not to let it burn 4. Add the sliced mushrooms and sprigs of fresh thyme to the skillet. 5. Cook, stirring occasionally, until the mushrooms release their moisture and start to brown, about 5-7 minutes. 6. Pour in the white wine, stirring to deglaze the pan and lift any browned bits from the bottom. 7. Let the wine simmer for about 2-3 minutes, until it reduces by half. 8. Stir in the beef broth. 9. Simmer for another 2-3 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld. 10. Reduce the heat to low and slowly stir in the heavy cream. 11. Let the sauce simmer gently for 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until it thickens to your desired consistency. 12. Taste the sauce and season with salt and pepper as needed. 13. Garnish with chopped fresh parsley #mushroomsauce #creamymushroomsauce #steaksauce #saucerecipe

  • @abysmaldepths4721
    @abysmaldepths4721 11 дней назад

    Using actual mint leaves or pep-o-mint leaves while cooking the base then straining them out before mixing would also give it a green color. You don't have to use flavoring and food coloring.

      @zoestout8977 11 дней назад

      I made mint syrup from peppermint leaves and it was pee coloured not green 😂🙈 I ended up adding food colouring anyway 😅 and tips how to stop it being this colour naturally?

    • @Homemadefoodjunkie
      @Homemadefoodjunkie 10 дней назад

      @@abysmaldepths4721 yes I think you could also use Spirulina for making it green. Just not sure if it would change it to a different flavor

    • @abysmaldepths4721
      @abysmaldepths4721 10 дней назад

      @@zoestout8977 try blanching and shocking the leaves first. Also mint is a little better for keeping the color. The flavor is almost identical. The blanch will cause the leaves to stiffen a little and help them keep their color. It's a delicate herb so don't do it for long. No more than 15 sec with mint. Then straight to an ice bath.
